Ranking system
The colours of our belts are, according to old Okinawa custom, white, green, brown and black. The different Kyu and Dan rankings correspond to the performance and the level of the students in the Karate Do.

Examination
We usually have an examination at the end of each term. There the students will show his/her acquired skills to licensed examiners and friends.

After about five years of hard and dedicated practise, the student can become a black belt instructor (1st Dan).

Black belts
The black belt ranking starts with 1 Dan and the highest ranked Sensei in our style has 10 Dan. In our club, the black belt examination is a six hour long endurance trial. The student not only shows what he/she has learnt technically, qualities such as discipline, attitude, physical and mental endurance are also of great importance. It's an unforgettable day when a student acquires the black belt, and everyone in the club takes part one way or another.
